During the school year, Jacob’s Pillow Curriculum in Motion™, a nationally-recognized arts-integrated curricular approach, connects Berkshire County K-12 students, classroom teachers, and administrators to the intellectual, inspirational, and physical world of dance.
Co-taught by prominent Jacob’s Pillow Artist Educators in collaboration with classroom teachers, the curriculum- and student-driven approach equally engages males and females, meets national standards for dance and academic subjects, fosters new ways of academic learning, social interaction, and creative thinking, and advances learning in 20 classrooms for some 300 students in academic subjects such as Biology, Math, and Spanish. Featured on Public Radio International’s The Best of Our Knowledge and in the Creative Arts and Learning Program at Lesley University, the program links choreography, kinesthetic intelligence, and critical and imaginative thinking to academic learning.
Jacob’s Pillow Curriculum in Motion™ co-founders are Pillow Artist-Educator Celeste Miller and The Carole & Dan Burack Director of The School at Jacob’s Pillow “J.R.” Glover. Click here to meet the Founding Artists.
