The Curriculum in Motion® Institute is a training program in the Curriculum in Motion® method: a co-creative workshop/residency model applying choreographers’ methods to the curriculum, question, issue or theme of a community partner. We use body-based practices to work with the Curriculum in Motion® pedagogy for integration between our art, values and place in the world. With its roots in almost 30 years of application with community partners, Curriculum in Motion® artists have partnered with K-12 schools, museums, after-school programs, non-profits, medical groups, businesses, and civic planners.
Curriculum in Motion® asks: How can artists, their community partners, and participants build reciprocal relationships with participatory dance-making rooted in the unique choreographic methods of the choreographer?

Lynn Peterson
Lynn Peterson is Co-Artistic Director of SYREN Modern Dance, a non-profit organization based in NYC entering its 20th year of sharing dance. SYREN’s mission is to embrace dance as a conduit of connection, communication, curiosity, and collaboration. SYREN has danced where people gather across fourteen states in America, in France, and in February 2022, SYREN represented the U.S. State Department as a U.S. Cultural Ambassador at Expo 2020 Dubai. www.syrendance.org
Zoe Fyfe
Zoe Fyfe is a dance artist and educator from San Francisco, living in New York city who has been performing, teaching and choreographing for over 25 years. Zoe has an MFA in choreography from Mills College and creates work that embodies personal stories, emotions, and everyday moments that generate connection. She developed and directed the dance program at Lick-Wilmerding High School in CA and has taught at Marlboro College, Northfield Mount Hermon, and in youth outreach programs. Zoe believes dance is a catalyst for positive change in self and the world. She is currently launching her dance company Zoemotion.
Shenandoah Harris
Shenandoah Harris is originally from Denver, Colorado. Ms. Harris has BFA in Dance from University California, Santa Barbara and a degree in Theater Production and Design. She toured as a performer and dance educator with Diavolo Architecture in Motion. In 2020 she turned her focus to creating her own company, Psychopomp Dance Theater. Shenandoah’s ancestral Ashkenazi heritage of questioning and ritual informs the collaborative culture of her artistry. Her work pushes the limits of dynamically powerful athleticism and storytelling while remaining grounded in virtuosic dance technique. Ms. Harris places empathy-based movement as the most important aspect in her choreography because she is interested in creating a real and transformative experience for the artists throughout the process of creation and performance. www.psychopompdance.org
