Sumi Matsumoto, Digital Archivist
R. Sumi Matsumoto is an information professional who specializes in dance-related archives and digital technologies. She is currently the Digital Archivist at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Previously, Sumi was the Audiovisual Archivist for the Merce Cunningham Trust and worked at the Jerome Robbins Dance Division of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. As an Archiving and Preservation Fellow with Dance/USA, she worked with World Arts West to develop their digital archive. Sumi has also done work for the José Limón Archives, Lesbian Herstory Archives, and LGBT Community Center National History Archive. She has served as a grant review panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts and presented at the Dance/USA Connect conference. Sumi received her MSLIS from Pratt Institute and her BFA in Dance with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Michigan.
