Koichi Kubo, Artistic Director of NBA Ballet Company, was awarded the Japan Agency for Cultural Affairs Art 2014 Festival Prize. At the age of 16, he was awarded 1st place at the Moscow International Ballet Competition. Kubo performed as a guest dancer with Boston Ballet as a principal dancer with and performed in ballet galas around the world including the Moscow Bolshoi Theatre. He was the first Japanese ballet dancer to make the cover of Dance Magazine. His principle roles include Balanchine ballets, Cinderella, Coppélia, Don Quixote, Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker. In 2012 he became Artistic Director of NBA Ballet Company.
