JACOB’S PILLOW CURRICULUM IN MOTION™ INSTITUTE CO-DIRECTOR
Kimberli Boyd is a Dancer, Educational Consultant specializing in Arts Integration, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 500) and Yoga Therapist certified by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (C-IAYT). With a passion for moving bodies, hearts, and minds, she is the CEO of “Dancing Between the Lines, Inc.” an umbrella organization with programs that offer a unique intersection of learning, creativity, and wellness to individuals, communities, and institutions.
Kimberli believes “art is powerful – dance and movement are empowering” and has toured the U.S. extensively, facilitating workshops and residencies that use movement and creative dance as a means of exploring creativity, empowering positive self image, workplace wellness, collaboration within community groups as well as corporations, and more.
Her original body of work, “Reaching the Kinesthetic Learner though Movement and Creative Dance,” is a dynamic and highly effective approach that integrates elements and principles of dance, mindfulness practices that support social emotional well-being with key concepts across the curriculum in order to enhance learning in math, science, and language arts for students pre-K through 8th grade and beyond.
In her home community, Kimberli serves the Detroit Metropolitan Area as a member of the Detroit Wolf Trap Early Learning through the Arts programs, including Head Start, Early Head Start and Baby Arts Play.
Nationally, Kimberli is a workshop presenter, seminar leader and Master Teaching Artist for the John F. Kennedy Center National Partnerships and Changing Education through the Arts (CETA) programs, Washington, DC. In addition, Kimberli is a Founding Teaching Artist and Institute Co-Director for the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival’s Curriculum in Motion™ program, Becket, MA.
Internationally, Kimberli was selected by the Fulbright Cultural Exchange Program to serve as a United States Fulbright Specialist, making her eligible to be matched with projects designed by host institutions in over 150 countries globally. In 2019, she completed her first assignment with the Ministry of Education, Trinidad and Tobago.
Founder of Spirit Filled YOGA and Wellness, Kimberli is community wellness advocate and certified yoga therapist in private practice. Working with individuals in one on one sessions, private groups, wellness events, and workshops, Kimberli specializes in offering a creative approach to the clinical application of yoga and meditation to lessen the effects of suffering caused by stress, anxiety, illness, injury, trauma, or disease.
