Karen Karlberg, School Administrator
Karen Karlberg is the School Administrator, having worked at the Pillow since 2015. Her responsibilities include maintaining the integrity of The School at Jacob’s Pillow database records; this includes ensuring the Alumni Records, Recruitment Lists and Dancer Invoicing & Payments are accurately maintained. Karen also coordinates the College Credit Program for The School and the Jacob’s Pillow Festival Interns with UMass Amherst. Karen’s past professional life includes; The Community Outreach Coordinator for the Berkshire Humane Society, The Marketing Manager for Cranwell Resort, Manager of The Gift Shop at Red Lion Inn, and as a Systems Analyst for the defense industry. These experiences have culminated in her ability to perform in a cheerful and optimistic manner for all that is needed of her at the Pillow. Karen is an avid Birder, Artisan, and the caregiver of 3 llamas, 5 chickens, 3 cats, and her new dog “Birdie”. They all live at Kattail Farm, just 5 minutes from Jacob’s Pillow. She is also a published author, with the release of her beautifully Illustrated children’s book, “Cooper the Dancing Llama”, which includes the people and places of Jacob’s Pillow in the story about her ballet loving llama, Cooper.
