Ayazamana (from the Kichwa word meaning where the soul rests) dance group is mostly composed of new arrival immigrants from Ecuador and first generation Latinx dancers. Their mission is to allow the community to have greater access to Ecuadorian culture through dance, representing vast regions, such as the mountains, the coast, and the Amazon, that compose the small South American Country.
Founded in Queens, New York, Ayazamana has performed throughout the tristate area in performances at the Ecuadorian Consulate, Museum of Native Americans, US Open, and the Queens Museum of Art.
