Hunter Styles, Director of Editorial and Design

Hunter Styles began working at Jacob’s Pillow in November 2019 as the Digital Content and Marketing Manager. In November 2021, he became the Director of Marketing and Communications. In September 2024, he stepped into his current role, where he guides Jacob’s Pillow’s institutional tone of voice, brand, and visual identity across major editorial writing projects and creative materials. This position works within the Marketing department to steward and communicate the Pillow’s multiple histories, narrative opportunities, and visual identity. Before coming to the Pillow, Hunter was the Communications Director for the Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival on Cape Cod. He has worked leadership and management roles in Box Office and Patron Services, Marketing, Group Sales, Community Partnerships, Videography, and Digital Media for The Studio Theatre in Washington, DC and Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA. He is the former Artistic Director of Artists Bloc, a DC-focused workshop and presentation series, as well as a stage director and produced playwright. As a former journalist, he wrote hundreds of arts features for outlets including American Theatre magazine, The Huffington Post, and DC Theatre Scene, as well as reporting in Massachusetts for the Daily Hampshire Gazette, Greenfield Recorder, Edible Pioneer Valley, and UpCountry Magazine. He is the former editor of Preview Massachusetts magazine and arts editor of the Valley Advocate in Northampton.
