Carlos Bauzys is an award-winning composer, orchestrator, and music director whose credits include BARBA: Brazilian Body Percussion Musical, Tap&Tom, Americano!, Aparecida, Alice no Mundo da Internet, Escrava Isaura, O Pífaro, Aladdin, O Silêncio em Apuros, Bichos do Mundo, and Kin Con Krof. Carlos served as the Music Director and Conductor of numerous Broadway shows ão Paulo and Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), with highlights such as Funny Girl, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Zorro, Sunset Boulevard, Aparecida, Peter Pan, The Producers, Singin’ In The Rain, The Man Of La Mancha, Rio Mais Brasil, Cinderella, Nuvem de Lágrimas, The Drowsy Chaperone, Hello Dolly, Grey Gardens, Xanadu, Hairspray, Sweet Charity, and La Cage Aux Folles. Additionally, Carlos was the Music Director for Barbatuques, a world-famous Brazilian body percussion group, for the shows Ayú, Barbatuques 25 Years, and So Mais um Pouquinho. Beyond the stage, Carlos has worked as a Music Director and Arranger for Disney+ Brazil for the project Uma Garota Comum (2023-2024). 

Carlos has earned many awards for his work including several Bibi Ferreira Awards (2014, 2015, and 2016), a Botequim Cultural Award (2016), the Coca-Cola/FEMSA Award (2008), and was the first Brazilian to be awarded a full scholarship in the Graduate Musical Theater Writing Program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. 

Alongside Fernando Barba and Cadu Souza, Carlos is a Co-Founder of the Body Orchestra, where he has developed a notation for body percussion and has created numerous score transcripts. He holds a Bachelor in Composition and Conducting from the Institute of Arts at UNESP and from 2014 – 2015 served as the Coordinator of the Music Area of SESI-SP Educational Project in Musical Theater.
