From the 1930's until 1986, this was not a lawn at all, it was the parking lot!
When 50 additional acres were purchased and added to the Pillow grounds, this area was converted to use for dining, picnicking, and outdoor events.
Today the Pillow Café, located on the north end of the Great Lawn, offers full dining and bar service for parties of all sizes under the festive tent. The Café is open before performances and reservations are strongly recommended. For hours and reservations, call 413.243.2455 after June 15.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their own picnic or purchase a box lunch at the Pillow Pub. The Great Lawn hosts the Season Opening Gala and Let's Dance!, and is available for catered events during the off-season.
