  • This free, exclusive photography exhibit in Blake's Barn includes stunning photos of dancers in midair by acclaimed photographer Lois Greenfield. In the Archives Reading Room, view paintings and illustrations by celebrated cartoonist and writer Jules Feiffer.

  • 3:30pm Members-Only Open Rehearsal with "the Trocks"
  • Jacob's Pillow Members and Volunteers enjoy a free, behind-the-scenes open rehearsal with the Trocks, sans make-up and tutus. Commentary and Q&A with Artistic Director Tory Dobrin.   • Inside/Out Stage
    A former dancer with Ballet Hispanico, Yesid Lopez combines contemporary dance, ballet, and traditional Colombian dance in energetic, passionate works. Free outdoor performance.

  • 7pm Free Exhibit: Arnie Zane on Bill T. Jones
  • This free photography exhibit in the lobby of the Ted Shawn Theatre explores the personal and professional relationship of collaborators and partners Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane.

  • 8pm Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo
  • Ted Shawn Theatre
    The grace, bravura, and singular personality of "one of the great comic creations of the American stage" (San Francisco Chronicle) have catapulted this all-male ballet troupe of technically expert dancers to international stardom. The evening includes Swan Lake, Act III, Raymonda's Wedding, Patterns in Space (choreographed after Merce Cunningham), and tons of tutus, tiaras, and tights. Take in a pre-show talk at 7:30pm in Blake's Barn to learn more about this one-of-a-kind company. $35 under 35 tickets available for Friday's performance

    Hailed as "the best and brightest creative talent to emerge in New York City in the age of Obama" by Out Magazine, Kyle Abraham brings an evening of works steeped in the search for identity and influenced by dance forms ranging from ballet to hip-hop. The program includes a world premiere work created in part here at the Pillow during a Creative Development Residency, and The Radio Show, set to an eclectic score of 1960s pop, R&B soul, and contemporary classical music. Enjoy a pre-show talk starting at 7:45pm on the Doris Duke porch to learn about Kyle's inspirations. Tickets start at $33.

  • Mix and mingle with fellow culture-lovers and the dancers you just saw perform onstage at the Pillow Pub. We'll have music, specialty drinks, and a friendly atmosphere; all you have to do is attend! The Pillow Pub offers coffee, dessert, beer, wine, a full bar, and a late night menu.

  • Blake's Barn
    From his early training with Ted Shawn and Ruth St. Denis to his work in nightclubs and coaching of screen icons including Rita Hayworth and Marilyn Monroe, Jack Cole had a unique choreographic career that inspired generations of dance artists. Cole's influence is traced here in film clips and personal reminiscences.

    Contemporary dance artist Kyle Abraham leads a company class in his movement style. Observation is free.

  • Free Tour: Ted Shawn and his Men Dancers: A Walking Tour of Jacob's Pillow
    Meet at the Bell in front of the Ted Shawn Theatre
    Jacob's Pillow Director of Preservation Norton Owen leads a walking tour of the Pillow. This 45-minute tour will focus on modern dance pioneer and Pillow founder Ted Shawn and his company of Men Dancers, an ensemble that broke social barriers throughout the 1930s. This unique tour is free and open to the public, and is presented as part of "A Weekend OUT at the Pillow."
