Chet Walker invites award-winning Broadway choreographers, directors, composers/arrangers, and musicians to collaboratively create original numbers on dancers, with the same fast pace and rigor required to audition for and mount Broadway productions. Dancers present excerpts of the works for the public August 6, 13, and 20.

Working as an ensemble, dancers perform these works, and more, with a live band on August 21 in the historic Ted Shawn Theatre; proceeds benefit The School at Jacob's Pillow. Daily technique classes rotate among ballet, jazz, musical theatre dance, and tap. Dancers rehearse afternoons and evenings with choreographers and musicians. Vocal training, audition coaching, and career-building discussions are also part of the curriculum. Attending Festival performances, public talks, exhibits, master classes, and studying in the Archives are integral to this immersion experience in dance.

For 12 female and 12 male musical theatre performers at an advanced pre-professional or professional level with singing and acting experience, age 16 and up. Audition requires parent signature on liability waiver if 17 years of age and under.
